My name is Vidya Mahesh. I am excited to share my story of how I transitioned into digital marketing and what it takes to become a successful digital marketing expert.

I grew up in Kannur, the land of looms and lores in God’s own country, Kerala. Completing my bachelor’s in business degree was a significant achievement, as I secured the top rank at Kannur University in 2001. I pursued my MBA at Calicut University, Calicut with a major in Marketing.

With the commitment of marriage and the new promise of beginnings, I relocated to Chennai. My career journey began with Sembcorp, a Singapore-based logistics company as an Assistant Manager in market resource management. As the legend says, Life is a book, keep turning the pages, I moved to Bangalore, followed by a stint in a research firm in Bangalore, where I worked for FMCG clients.

Though a caretaking break allowed me to revere some precious moments with my family, a bundle of joy! Ultimately, it was a challenging and rewarding experience moving to the USA, with the hope of selling my dreams.

Returning to work during the pandemic marked a crucial turning point for me. My passion for marketing prompted me to research the digital literacy boom and burgeoning trends in digital marketing. I took Certifications and self-paced courses as I explored new patterns in the job market. The path seemed endless with no clear resolution…

Participation in various projects, as a social media and content marketer, and SEO specialist with platforms like Acadium helped me build my portfolio. However, the pervasive layoff trend in the job market posed another obstacle. I find solace and purpose by shifting my focus toward organizations like the American Marketing Association, New Jersey.
